and you can too. But if you are getting bogged down in the scams and crazy schemes or lost in the sea of information, you may find it hard to believe that

you will ever work at home. Here are some tips to trouble-shoot your work-at-home efforts.

1) Do you have realistic expectations? We live in a society focused on instant gratification, but the odds of deciding to work at home today and actually

doing it tomorrow are slim. It can take 6 months to 2 years to find a work-at-home job or create a profitable home business depending on your skills,

experience, and how much work you put into it.

2) Are you doing research? The best way to develop realistic expectations related to working at home is to educate yourself about what is really involved.

Research will teach you what and how long it takes to really work at home, help you avoid scams, and keep you focused on the right types of activities. And

when you find something that sounds appealing, research will provide information about other peoples experiences, the opportunities reputation, and other

information you need to make an informed decision.

3) Are you using common sense? Too many work-at-home decisions are based on emotions. Usually desperate ones involving money worries or a desire to be home

with children. But you have to keep your head about you when researching opportunities. When you find something that sounds promising, ask yourself if you

hAve ever met anyone making a living do it. For example I have never met anyone making a living at stuffing envelopes, reading email, processing rebates,

doing surveys, posting ads, and host of other things you can find. The adage.If it sounds too good to be true, it must be. Should be displayed at your desk

to remind you to keep a level head as you sift through work-at-home options.

4) Are you looking for opportunities that fit your skills and interests? Too many people look for the fast, quick buck and end up wasting time and money as

these opportunities almost always turn out to be scams or deceptive schemes. Instead, make a list of all your skills, experiences, interests and hobbies, and

search for jobs that fit what you know how to do. You are more likely to be successful pursuing your passion than the money.

5) Are you evaluating your efforts? If you are not finding what you need or getting results do you know why? Are you too focused on fast and quick, and

therefore running into scams all the time? Do you have a plan and are you working the plan every day? By evaluating your efforts you can gain a sense of what

I guess that you might say that I am drawn to work at home. There are some reasons for this, and I will explain them in a few articles. You are welcome to trace the links back and back, as thin article will eventually come out on the other side and be the perfect Google promoting tool. After having been employed and self-employed, I know for a fact that having a real job is just not for me. I have had the bosses that were jerks, and some good ones as well, but the simple truth of the matter, I hate working for anyone but me and my family. If I did not have and develop a work at home business, I would basically be unemployable, and thank you very much for that indeed! I remember the days of frustration and anxiety and trying to please the man, and I am glad that those days are over for good. Working at home for me is a very natural and pleasurable experience. I can pursue my chosen field of writing content at my hearts desire. If I wish to quit, I simply walk away. So, in essence, you can say that work at home to me is freedom in its essence.

Becoming a work at home professional is time consuming at first. The reason for the failure rate in the home business industry is the fact that almost no one knows what to do, once they have joined that wonderful widget business. This is a sad but true fact folks. You want to know why this is? Well, owners of these super networking legendary make millions of dollars from home simply know nothing about teaching their affiliate how to do it. They may have some so called legend working, but in reality, that person is someone who happens to either know a lot of people, or simply email spams their way to millions of people. In other words, its more or less a numbers game. If you were to ask them how they do it, they would tell you to gather all your friends and family and tell them about your work at home business. If you are like me, that is distasteful, to say the least.

So, what is the secret sauce, if any, that makes a work from home business work? Its really no secret at all. You do your diligence, find a company with a good product, believe in that product and begin the process of telling others about that. There are numerous ways to promote a work at home business, so you must choose the ways that will work for you. You may be comfortable holding meetings or parties. That is ok, but do it all the time and never quit. You may choose a work from home business that requires you to travel to other locations. That is fine as well. You may have a large sphere of influence in another WAH program, and feel comfortable with sharing your information with them, but be aware, most work at home business companies do not like for you to promote anything but their gig. You can literally be shut down very quickly if you are found cross promoting. People generally believe that even though they have a great business, it should just build on its own. Folks, there is NO business that will accomplish that. You are going to have to become very savvy in the art and science of working at home if you stand a chance at becoming successful in this industry. Quite frankly, most will give up after a month or two. They could be right on the verge of a breakthrough, yet decide to throw in the proverbial work at home towel, and jump over to the greener pastures of yet another program that will earn them millions. I talk with people every day that jump from one work from home gig to another, searching for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Well Dorothy, just follow the yellow brick road to perdition, because that is exactly what you will find there.

Many people believe that working from home is a lot like the old envelope stuffing gigs of yesteryear. You remember seeing those ads of making money from your own envelope stuffing business, right? Well, the whole deal was a work at home scam, of which there are many. You must know that almost everything you see and read on the Internet is utter BS. I mean that sincerely. There are no super duper work at home businesses that will make you rich. There are no secret sauce programs that will get your sites listed on Google. There are no software download programs that will cut the effort. Please remember this. Working from home is just like being employed. You must show up every day, and make just a little progress. At the end of that day, you go to bed, and get up and do it all over again. How long does it take for work from home success? As long as it takes! I am not being cynical here folks, only truthful. I have built several large work from home organizations, and the only way that I am able to do this is by working the work at home gig. There is simply no way around this fact, and if you think otherwise, then are a green newbie that is going to lose their socks in that latest and greatest juice business, I personally guarantee it!

The more positive side of working from home is the freedom to choose the way that you wish to live. I answer to no one, have all that I need, do what I want and when I want, and basically I can find no better way to live than that. I hear and read about work from home scams, and I know for a fact that a lot of people that bitch, moan and whine about not making any money from their work at home business, are nothing more than that. Bitching does not get results, working gets results. If they spent as much time writing about their businesses as they write about how they got ripped off, they might have made a few dollars, who knows? Self disciple plays heavily into the art and science of developing a great work from home business project. Most have not the discipline to get and hold a real job, much less approach working from home in a professional manner. Its sad, but its the truth folks. More time is wasted in making non-sensical chit chat on Facebook and Skype, that actual work is done. I look at that, and simply have to laugh as these are the people who are not making money, and wondering why?

Work at Home is a reality for myself, and millions of people around the world. In these days and times of economic unrest, it would seem that people should be looking to find that perfect home business, as the real jobs are fastly coming to a close. Internet jobs last, and will continue to last even in times of economic depression. This should be a very good and positive sign for all the work at homers pursuing the work at home business industry. Frankly, I put my trust in my work at home business way before I trust the politicians and lawyers that run this country. My work from home business is mine, and as long as I follow their guidelines, and work my tail off, I am good to go. Quite possibly you can learn to do that as well.

I am certain without a doubt that work at home businesses work, it depends on your ability as a dedicated work from home entrepreneur to choose to work until you achieve the success that you desire. Without this type of dedication, you are simply doomed to fail. Work at home business failure could be thought of in this manner. Do the work at home business fail you, OR, did you fail the business? If you can honestly answer this question, you may have a chance at eventual success.

Link cloaking is a very important part of affiliate marketing. In a nutshell, link cloaking is a way to protect your affiliate commissions from being stolen. It's not totally foolproof. Smart individuals who are well-educated about the matter can still figure out how to keep you from getting your commission.

But most people won't go that far, so cloaking your links will prevent most commission loss. How do people steal affiliate commissions? Well, have you ever hovered over a link and noticed that the link was an obvious affiliate link?

Some people type in the parent domain instead of clicking the link as a way of making sure the owner of the site gets paid 100% for the sale. Some people falsely believe that if they buy from an affiliate link, they'll have to pay more for a commission mark-up.

Some people actually do it for a different reason. If you're promoting a ClickBank product, especially to other marketers, many of them know they can insert their own ClickBank ID and get what's usually a 50% or more discount on the product.

This is a different type of affiliate commission theft, because the person doing it gets the affiliate commission themselves, rather than just making sure you don't get it. Most people don't do that, of course, but it happens.

Most people are pretty honest, and don't mind giving you a little affiliate commission in exchange for recommending a good product to them. But it's enough of a concern that you should take steps to prevent it.

You can easily set up your own link cloaking system. You can set up a directory on one of your domains. Most marketers use the domain of their own name, as in bobsmith.com. Then they typically have a subdirectory called /recommends/.

Inside of that directory, they create a new subdirectory for each product, like this: bobsmith.com/recommends/productname. In that directory, they place what's called a redirect file, which instantly takes the visitor to the actual affiliate link without displaying it. You can easily find out how create a redirect by looking it up online. It's very simple to do.

There are also a number of link cloaking scripts available. Most of them are relatively easy to install and use. There's a big benefit to using a script rather than doing it yourself. Using your simple redirect, there isn't an easy way to check how much traffic you've sent to your link, like scripts do.

Most link cloaking scripts also allow you to add new links very easily within an administrative area, and then each link is tracked so that you can see how much traffic is going through the link. If you use your own file, the only way to tell how much traffic you've sent is through your affiliate stats, which may be inaccurate, or through your web server's stats, which may be difficult to use and hard to understand.

Cloaking your affiliate links is the smart thing to do if you want to be sure you are protecting your hard-earned commissions online.

If you haven't yet heard this phrase, information overload, you will soon - because it happens to the majority of new Internet marketers at some time or another. Information overload is when you simply have too much to learn - so much that you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and more confused than before you had help.

It happens easily with this industry because there are so many options you have - an endless array of opportunities. You can be a product owner and an affiliate at the same time.

You can use article marketing, social marketing, or pay per click campaigns. You're new, you may not know much about any of the above, and suddenly you're thrust into an environment where everyone's opinions differ and you don't know where to start!

The first thing to do is calm down and take some of the pressure off of yourself. All of this information you need to digest isn't going anywhere. It's going to be here tonight, next week, and a year from now.

Don't invest in a guide about Google AdWords, another about Squidoo, and one about Private Label Rights all at the same time. There's an old saying, "How do you eat an elephant?" Answer: One bite at a time.

Internet marketing is your elephant and you have to choose whether you want to start with the ear, the foot, or the tail section first. It doesn't matter if you start out learning about social marketing before you know the ropes of article marketing, for example.

The point is that you're educating yourself and putting that knowledge to work for you. As long as you start somewhere and then actually apply that insight to a method of making money, you're on the road to success! Execution is everything.

However, there are a few things that will not make sense to learn before others. If you have no money to start with, then don't buy (or even download for free) a guide about pay per click marketing. Stay focused and start with something you can do.

You also may not want a 5000-page guide to everything all at once. You'll probably want to invest in small, bite-sized chunks of information that you can digest and utilize before moving on. Want to start with a free blog? Get a blog guide. Launch a blog.

Then move on to whatever interests you next, such as product creation or selling on eBay - whatever floats your boat. The key is to not get stuck by having too much information and too many choices at once.
